After loosing their first game Saturday morning, the Lions Hockey team rallied to win three games in the following 24 hours to take home the banner.
 The Halloween showcase held in Alma set the stage for the first Collegiate AAA hockey tournament. The local team, sitting on top of the league standing had great expectations for this initial showcase. Unfortunately for them, their vision of Halloween treats was tragically stolen by the tricks and energy of the Saint Lawrence Lions. The home town crowd was prepared for an incredible party that lost its local punch after seeing the Lions eliminate Alma in the quarter final game. The story line was altered as Sorel-Tracy and Saint Lawrence would eventually faceoff on championship Sunday for all the marbles.
The Lions played four games on the weekend, losing their first game to Sorel 4-3 early Saturday morning. Hubert Joncas, Vincent Boivin and Dominic Lampron scored goals in the losing cause. The Lions went on to play the rested home team after a quick two hour break. The boys saw this situation as a defining moment, testing their fitness and commitment to winning in most difficult circumstances. The Lions shocked the home crowd early and took an early 4-0 lead, silencing the fans and finally settling who would be part of the championship Halloween dance with a convincing 6-2 victory. Lions scoring came from Guillaume Kelhetter (2), Vincent Boivin, Dominique Lampron, Philip-Olivier Moreau and Joey Couture.
In the semi-final game, Saint Lawrence defeated Saint Laurent 4-2 with scoring from Vincent Boivin, Jean Philippe Sansfacon, Philip-Olivier Moreau and Laurent Dumont.
On two hours rest, once again, the Lions faced their toughest challenge disputing the banner against Sorel-Tracy who had defeated them earlier in tournament play on Saturday morning. After falling behind 0-2 early in the game, the Lions bounced back with goals from Laurent Dumont and Hubert Joncas. Unfortunately, with 2 minutes to play, Sorel once again took the lead with a late period goal. The Lions had an answer, when Hubert Joncas scored his second goal of the game with 40 seconds remaining on the score board. Saint Lawrence pulled net minder Thierry Tremblay while Jean Philippe Sansfacon won a crucial faceoff that led to the tying goal. In the shoot out, Thierry Tremblay stopped all three Sorel shooters, while Dominic Lampron froze Sorel net-minder, Alex Morand, with a great break away move that proved to be the game and championship winner.
 Vincent Boivin and Laurent Dumont were named to the tournament All Star team. The Lions now prepare for their next home game at L’Activital Saturday November 7th at 7h30 against Harrington College.
